Sneezing & Social Etiquette

(١) الْحَمْدُ للهِ

(٢) يَرْحَمُكَ اللهُ

يَهْدِيْكُمُ اللهُ، وَيُصْلِحُ بَالَكُمْ

May Allāh guide you and rectify your condition.

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لي، وَتُبْ عَلَـيَّ، إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الغَفُورُ

O my Lord, forgive me and turn towards me (to accept my repentance). Verily You are the Oft-Returning, the Oft-Forgiving.

سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ

How perfect You are O Allāh, and I praise You. I bear witness that None has the right to be worshiped except You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance.

وَلَكَ

And (may Allāh forgive) you.

جَزَاكَ اللهُ خَيْراً

May Allāh reward you with good.

اللَّهُمَّ فأَيُّمَا مُؤْمِنٍ سَبَبْتُهُ؛ فَاجْعَلْ ذَلِكَ لَهُ قُرْبَةً إلَيْكَ يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ

O Allāh, to any believer whom I have insulted, let that be cause to draw him near You on the Day of Resurrection.

قَالَ ﷺ: «إذَا كَانَ أحَدُكُمْ مَادِحاً صَاحِبَهُ لَا مَحَالَةَ؛ فَلْيَقُل: أحْسِبُ فُلَانًا: وَ اللهُ حَسِيْبُهُ، وَ لَا أُزَكِّي عَلَى اللهِ أحَداً: أحْسِبُهُ – إنْ كَانَ يَعْلمُ ذَاكَ – كَذَا وَ كَذَا»

I deem so-and-so to be...and Allāh is his reckoner...and I don't praise anyone, putting it (i.e. my praising) forward, in front of Allāh's commendation, however I assume him so and so(if he knows that of him).

اللَّهُمَّ لَا تُؤَاخِذْنِي بِمَا يَقُولُونَ، وَ اغْفِرْ لِي مَا لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ [وَ اجْعَلْنِي خَيْراً مِمَّا يَظُنُّونَ]

O Allāh, do not punish me for what they say, forgive me for what they do not know (and make me better than what they think of me).
