Dhikr & Tasbīḥ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: «مَنْ قَالَ: سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَ بِحَمْدِهِ فِي يَومٍ مِئَةَ مَرَّةٍ، حُطَّتْ خَطَايَاهُ، وَ لَو كَانَتْ مِثْلَ زَبَدِ البَحْرِ»
How perfect Allāh is and I praise Him. (One hundred times daily)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: «مَنْ قَالَ: لَا إلَهَ إلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ، لَهُ المُلْكُ، وَ لَهُ الحَمْدُ، وَ هُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ عَشْرَ مِرَارٍ، كَانَ كَمَنْ أعْتَقَ أرْبَعَةَ أنْفُسٍ مِنْ وَلَدِ إسْمَاعِيلَ»
None has the right to be worshiped except Allāh, alone, without partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and praise and He is over all things omnipotent. (Ten times)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: «كَلِمَتَانِ خَفِيفَتَانِ عَلَى اللِّسَانِ، ثَقِيلَتَانِ فِي الِميْزَانِ، حَبِيبَتَانِ إلَى الرَّحْمَنِ: سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَ بِحَمْدِهِ، سُبْحَانَ اللهِ العَظِيْمِ»
The Messenger of Allāh \pbuh said: “There are two words (phrases), (which are) light on the tongue, heavy on the scale and beloved to the Most Gracious: ‘How perfect Allāh is and I praise Him.’ (and) ‘How perfect Allāh is, The Supreme.’”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: «لَأنْ أقُولَ: سُبْحَانَ اللهِ، وَ الحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، وَ لَا إلَهَ إلَّا اللهُ، وَ اللهُ أكْبَرُ، أحَبُّ إلَيَّ مِمَّا طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ»
The Messenger of Allāh \pbuh said : “Saying ‘How perfect Allāh is, and all praise is for Allāh. None has the right to be worshiped except Allāh, and Allāh is the greatest,’ is more beloved to me than everything the Sun has risen over.”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: «أيَعْجِزُ أحَدُكُمْ أنْ يَكْسِبَ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ ألْفَ حَسَنَةٍ» فَسَألَهُ سَائِلٌ مِنْ جُلَسَائِهِ: كَيْفَ يَكْسِبُ أحَدُنَا ألْفَ حَسَنَةٍ؟ قَالَ: «يُسَبِّحُ مِئَةَ تَسْبِيْحَةٍ، فَيُكْتَبُ لَهُ ألْفُ حَسَنَةٍ، أوْ يُحَطُّ عَنْهُ ألْفُ خَطِيْئَةٍ»
How perfect Allāh is and I praise Him. (One hundred times)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: «مَنْ قَالَ: سُبْحَانَ اللهِ العَظِيمِ وَ بِحَمْدِهِ، غُرِسَتْ لَهُ نَخْلَةٌ فِي الجَنَّةِ»
“Whoever says: ‘How perfect Allāh is, The Supreme, and I praise Him,’ a palm tree is planted for him in paradise.”
قَالَ ﷺ: «يَا عَبْدَاللهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ، ألَا أدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الجَنَّةِ؟» فَقُلْتُ: بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَالَ: «قُلْ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إلَّا بِااللهِ»
There is no might nor power except with Allāh.
قَالَ ﷺ: «أحَبُّ الكَلَامِ إلَى اللهِ أرْبَعٌ: سُبْحَانَ اللهِ، وَ الحَمْدُ للهِ، وَ لَا إلَهَ إلَّا اللهُ، وَ اللهُ أكْبَرُ، لَا يَضُرُّكَ بِأيِّهِنَّ بَدَأْتَ»
The Prophet \pbuh said: “Four phrases are beloved to Allāh: ‘How perfect Allāh is,’ ‘All praises are for Allāh,’ ‘None has the right to be worshiped except Allāh,’ and ‘Allāh is the greatest.’”
جَاءَ أعْرَابِيٌّ إلَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ: عَلِّمْنِي كَلَامًا أقُولُهُ؟ قَالَ: «قُلْ: لَا إلَهَ إلَّا اللهُ وَ حْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، اللهُ أكْبَرُ كَبِيْراً، وَ الحَمْدُ للهِ كَثِيْراً، سُبْحَانَ اللهِ رَبِّ العَالَمِيْنَ، لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إلَّا بِااللهِ العَزِيزِ الحَكِيمِ»، قَالَ: فَهَؤُلَاءِ لِرَبِّي فَمَا لِي؟ قَالَ: «قُلْ: اللهم اغْفِرلِي، وَارْحَمْنِي، واهْدِنِي، وَارْزُقْنِي»
None has the right to be worshiped except Allāh, alone without partener. Allāh is most great and much praise is for Allāh. How perfect Allāh is, Lord of the worlds. There is no might nor power except with Allāh, The Exalted in might, The Wise. O Allāh, forgive me, have mercy upon me, guide me and grant me sustenance.
كَانَ الرَّجُلُ إذَا أَسْلَمَ عَلَّمَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الصَّلَاةَ، ثُمَّ أمَرَهُ أنْ يَدْعُوَ بِهَؤُلَاءِ الكَلِمَاتِ: «اللهم اغْفِرْلِي، وَارْحَمْنِي، وَاهْدِنِي، وِ عَافِنِي، وَارْزُقْنِي»
O Allāh, forgive me, have mercy upon me, guide me, give me health, and grant me sustenance.
إنَّ أفْضَلَ الدُّعَاءِ: الحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، وَ أفْضَلُ الذِّكْرِ: لَا إلَهَ إلَّا اللهُ
Indeed the best duʿā (is): “All praise is for Allāh.” and the best remembrance (is): “None has the right to be worshiped except Allāh.”
البَاقِيَاتُ الصَّالِحَاتُ: سُبْحَانَ اللهِ، وَ الحَمْدُللهِ، وَ لَا إلَهَ إلَّا اللهُ، وَ اللهُ أكْبَرُ، وَ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إلَّا بِااللهِ
How perfect Allāh is, and all praise is for Allāh. None has the right to be worshiped except Allāh, and Allāh is the greatest. There is no might nor power except with Allāh.
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْروٍ قَالَ: رَأيْتُ النَّبِيَّ يَعْقِدُ التَّسْبِيْحَ بِيَمِيْنِهِ
ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr said : “I saw the Prophet \pbuh make tasbīh with his right hand.”
